Chop shop: Archer compares hair to 'new start'

Biscuits pitcher Chris Archer has had his long, curly hair chopped off in favor of a closely cropped look. He joked it's a superstitious attempt to turn around his season.

"It's a new start, a clean slate," said Archer, who is 0-2 with a 5.85 ERA in seven starts. "It was time for a change."

Archer went with the "straight buzz" for his cut, which he said seriously wasn't because of how he's pitched.

"It's only a matter of time before it grows back in," he said. "No big deal."
