Charlotte's Matt Moore, behind his overpowering start Thursday, won the Florida State League's weekly pitching award today.Moore threw seven shutout innings, allowed four hits and totaled 10 strikeouts in a no-decision.
The left-hander is 4-9 with a 4.33 ERA this season, but he's done very well of late. In his last eight starts, he's 4-2 with a 1.81 ERA and 69 strikeouts in 49 2/3 innings. Moore has double-figure strikeouts in four of his last six games.
