Downs leaves after being hit on leg

Pitcher Darin Downs is coming out of tonight's game with two outs in the top of the sixth inning after being hit on the leg by a comebacker. Downs hasn't allowed a run, but there are two runners on with two outs as he leaves. Downs was hit on the left side of the head with a line drive last August.

8:44: Dane De La Rosa records the third out, so Downs pitched 6 2/3 shutout innings.

Downs did walk off the field with a noticeable limp after manager Billy Gardner, pitching coach Bill Moloney and trainer Lee Slagle visited the mound.
