J.J. Furmaniak hit the go-ahead homer in the fifth inning and Durham advanced to the International League championship series with a 4-2 win over Louisville.
Furmaniak also made an over-the-shoulder catch for the final out.
The Bulls face the Columbus Clippers in the best-of-5 finals. Games 1 and 2 are Tuesday and Wednesday at Columbus. Games 3, *4 and *5 will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Durham. (*--If necessary.)
