Durham digs hole, loses opener at Louisville

Mike Costanzo hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning and finished with four RBIs to lead the Louisville Bats in an 8-4 win over Durham tonight in Game 1 of an International League playoff series.

Leslie Anderson knocked in three runs to lead the Bulls, including a two-run homer in the seventh. Joe Dillon scored three times.

Richard De Los Santos, the IL regular-season wins leader, surrendered seven runs in five-plus innings. De Los Santos was 14-5 with a 3.52 ERA in the regular season.

Game 2 is Thursday at Louisville.
