Biscuits reliever Matt Gorgen, who tied for the Southern League lead in saves this season, has been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Gorgen completes the deal that sent major leaguer Chad Qualls from Arizona to Tampa Bay on July 31.
Gorgen, 23, had 22 saves and a 1.65 ERA in 49 innings this season for the Biscuits. He was named the team's most valuable player by the Advertiser.
Last year, Tampa Bay named Gorgen the organization's top minor league reliever. He had 19 saves and a 1.17 ERA between high-Class A Charlotte and Double-A Montgomery.
