Bortnick reigns in June's BCS/RPI race

Charlotte infielder Tyler Bortnick was the June winner of the BCS/RPI (Biscuit Crumbs Standings/Rays Performance Indicator) scale.

Bortnick scored 24 points in the daily rankings here, just ahead of the 21 points of Bowling Green outfielder Cody Rogers. Durham outfielder Desmond Jennings was third with 16 points.

The top pitcher wasn't eligible for the rankings for the first 2 1/2 weeks of the month. Jason McEachern went to Hudson Valley and, in three starts, pulled three first-place votes and netted 15 points.

Bortnick had two first places and appeared in the daily rankings seven times.
