Shane Dyer won for the first time since June 8, leading the Biscuits to a 5-1 victory over the Tennessee Smokies on Thursday.
Dyer (5-6), who worked six innings, giving up one run on eight hits, had lost five straight decisions. The Biscuits turned three double plays behind him. Shawn O'Malley scored twice and hit an RBI double, while Cole Figueroa and Greg Sexton had two RBIs each.
