Dan Merklinger threw a three-hitter in the Huntsville Stars' 5-2 win over the Biscuits in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.
Montgomery's runs came in the second when Tim Beckham doubled and scored on a Stephen Vogt flyout and in the seventh on a leadoff home run by Henry Wrigley.
Huntsville scored four times in the fifth inning, capped by a two-run Sean Halton home run. Matt Cline hit an RBI double and Erik Komatsu an RBI single before Halton.
Merklinger (6-6) walked one and struck out six. Montgomery's Shane Dyer (4-5) gave up five runs on 10 hits in five innings.
