Chris Archer, who ended his minor league season with a flourish, also was the final-month BCS/RPI champion.

Archer had a 1.86 ERA, 37 strikeouts and 27 hits allowed in his final seven starts, five of which met "quality" specifications, for Triple-A Durham. He joined the Rays after the Bulls' season.

He scored 20 points on the Biscuit Crumbs Standings/Rays Player Indicator scale, nipping Bowling Green outfielder Drew Vettleson by two points.

In the short-season BCS/RPI, Hudson Valley right-hander Jesse Hahn was the final-month winner. He was 2-0 with a 1.30 ERA in six starts after Aug. 1, giving up just 13 hits with 33 strikeouts in 27 2/3 innings.

Hahn scored 10 points and there was a three-way tie for second. Renegades teammates Jeff Ames, Sean Bierman and Richie Shaffer tallied eight points each.
