MOBILE -- Robby Price and Kevin Kiermaier, both in their Double-A debuts, teamed up for the go-ahead run in the Biscuits' 2-1, 11-inning playoff win over the Mobile BayBears on Friday.
Price singled to the right side of the infield and Kiermaier, in as a pinch-runner, scored from second base.
Montgomery tied the best-of-5 series 1-1 with Game 3 to be played Saturday at Riverwalk Stadium.
Omar Luna hit a leadoff home run in the seventh for Montgomery, which was 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position -- and 3-for-24 in the series -- before Price's hit.
Left-hander Kyle Lobstein delivered a solid start in a no-decision. He gave up one run on six hits in six innings. Lobstein has had six quality starts this season where he did not win, including five where he gave up one run or less.
The win was critical for Montgomery's chances.
Since the Biscuits started play in 2004, there have been 12 Southern League playoff series in which a team has taken a 2-0 lead. All 12 have won the series; eight via sweep.
