Right-hander Jean Machi, with the Biscuits in 2005-06, has been promoted to the major leagues by the San Francisco Giants.
He's in line to be the 56th former Biscuit to play in the big leagues and fourth this season. He'd be the 19th player from the 2005 team and 12th from 2006.
Machi was 2-1 with 15 saves and a 3.97 ERA in 53 games at Triple-A Fresno this year. The 30-year-old made one appearance for the Biscuits in 2005 and was Montgomery's closer in 2006.
Machi was 6-1 with 16 saves and a 2.64 ERA in 49 games for the 2006 Southern League champions.
