Montgomery has its first batting champion in 86 years.
Biscuits infielder Omar Luna was the top hitter in the Southern League with a .315 average, marking the city's first title since 1926, when John Kloza hit .380 for the Lions to win the Southeastern League crown.
Montgomery's regular-season finale was rained out, but Luna wasn't in the lineup anyway and finished with a .315 average.
Pensacola's Josh Fellhauer was 2-for-4 in his season finale vs. Tennessee and had a .314 average. Mississippi's Todd Cunningham was 0-for-4 in his season finale at Mobile to finish with a .309 average.
With one less hit by Luna or one more hit by Fellhauer, Fellhauer would be the batting champ.
