Adam Liberatore's surprising return to the Biscuits didn't last long.
Liberatore, four games into the season, has been promoted to Triple-A Durham, where he finished last season.
The 25-year-old left-handed relief pitcher made one appearence for Montgomery, throwing two shutout innings Friday. He was 3-4 with a 2.94 ERA in 33 games last year for the Biscuits.
Promoted to Durham in late July, Liberatore recorded a 1.29 ERA in 16 games. In 21 innings, he gave up just 18 hits with eight walks and 21 strikeouts.
Liberatore went to his first major league spring training this year. In five appearances, he had two hits allowed and two walks.
