Triple-A Durham manager Charlie Montoyo, who led the Biscuits from 2004-06, will leave the Bulls this week for son Alex's latest heart surgery.
Alex is scheduled to have surgery next week in Los Angeles. Alex was born in October 2007 with an abnormally formed heart valve and had two open-heart surgeries soon after he was born.
Montoyo reached a managerial milestone Sunday, picking up his 1,100th career victory with the Bulls' 3-2 win at Norfolk.
