Saturday's Rays roundup

Gwinnett 10, Bulls 5
Nevin Ashley
hit a two-run home run, doubled, walked twice and scored twice. Adam Liberatore threw 2 1/3 shutout innings. Josh Lueke surrendered six runs and recorded two outs. The Bulls marked their official elimination from playoff contention.

Stone Crabs 9, St. Lucie 8
Riccio Torrez
doubled in Phil Wunderlich with the tying run and Steve Tinoco scored the winning run on an error in the ninth. Luke Bailey hit a three-run home run in the eighth. Bailey also doubled twice, had four RBIs and scored twice.

South Bend 11, Hot Rods 10
Drew Vettleson
hit a two-run homer, singled thrice, was plunked, had four RBIs and scored twice. Juniel Querecuto doubled, walked, had two RBIs and scored twice. Ryan Brett doubled, walked, swiped No. 48 and scored twice. The Hot Rods gave up a 10-spot in the sixth with Felipe Rivero taking seven of it.

Renegades 6, Lowell 5

Johnson City 9, P-Rays 8
Omar Narvaez
hit three singles, RBI'd and scored twice. Oscar Hernandez hit a two-run homer and walked. Brandon Martin hit a solo shot and erred. Blake Snell lasted just two innings (?), allowing three runs on five hits. The Rays gave up four in the bottom of the ninth.

GCL Rays at Orioles
Suspended in a 2-2 tie in the seventh. To resume Aug. 24.
