Jared Mortensen threw five shutout innings to help the Biscuits take a 6-1 victory over the Mobile BayBears on Friday.
Mortensen allowed just two hits with four walks and two strikeouts. He recorded seven groundball outs.
Montgomery scored all of its runs in the first three innings.
Cameron Seitzer's two-out single brought home Ryan Brett in the first inning. Brett led off the game with a hit by pitch.
In the second, Riccio Torrez's groundout brought in Willie Argo before Brett tripled in Jeff Malm and scored on a Taylor Motter double. Seitzer led off the third inning with a home run and Malm's two-out single scored Argo.
