I'm hearing that the Charlotte Stone Crabs are losing two players to promotions.
Infielder Steve Tinoco is headed to the Biscuits, while reliever Austin Hubbard is going to Triple-A Durham.
Hubbard, who played at Auburn, had a 3.00 ERA and four saves in 12 appearances for the Stone Crabs. Tinoco was hitting .245 in 13 games.
Durham was short a pitcher after Alex Torres went to the Rays, who lost David Price to injury. The Biscuits were two short after releasing infielder Greg Sexton and pitcher Zach Quate. The Bulls do have a starter with the Stone Crabs. Mike Montgomery has been injured and threw four shutout innings in his Crabs debut Monday.
