Michael Dowd, scheduled to be Jackson's starting catcher tonight against the Biscuits, was promoted from high-Class A High Desert today.
Here's the rub: Dowd isn't scheduled to arrive in Montgomery until 6 p.m. If, for whatever reason, he hasn't arrived by 6:30, the Generals don't have another catcher on their active roster and supposedly infielder Jack Marder would climb behind the plate.
Marder has catching experience. He played 24 games behind the plate at High Desert over the last two years.
