Brad Miller hit a two-run home run and James Jones scored twice to lead the Jackson Generals in a 3-1 win over the Biscuits on Thursday.
Anthony Fernandez, who entered with an 8.84 ERA, held the Biscuits to an unearned run on three hits over six innings. He walked two, struck out three and improved to 2-0.
Montgomery's Kevin Kiermaier led off the bottom of the first with a walk. He went to second on Mikie Mahtook's one-out single and scored on an error. Cameron Seitzer hit a sharp grounder that first baseman Steven Proscia mishandled.
Jones tripled and scored on a wild pitch in the top of the first. He began the third with a walk and scored on Miller's one-out homer. It was Miller's sixth homer of the season.
The Biscuits mustered just three hits and lost for the 12th time in their last 17 games.
