Matt Buschmann, the anchor of Montgomery's starting rotation, has been promoted to Triple-A Durham.
Buschmann was 6-3 with a 2.69 ERA in 11 starts for the Biscuits. Four times this season, Buschmann has thrown at least six shutout innings, including seven in a win at Mississippi on Tuesday. His six wins are tied for the Southern League lead for victories.
Buschmann, an eighth-year pro, was 7-8 with a 3.89 ERA last season for Montgomery. He had a 5.23 ERA in two late-June starts for Durham.
He's the second veteran pitcher that the Biscuits have lost to Durham this week. Closer Juan Sandoval, who led the Southern League with 11 saves, started for the Bulls on Wednesday.
The Bulls also put catcher Chris Gimenez on the disabled list.
