Sunday: Blue Wahoos 9, Biscuits 2

Billy Hamilton made no progress in his chase for the minor league steals record, but he tripled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos' 9-2 win over the Biscuits on Sunday.

Hamilton was picked off first base in the third and was part of a double-steal attempt in the fifth. The Biscuits threw out the trail runner at second. By rule (10.07(d) for those scoring at home), Hamilton is not credited with a stolen base.

Hamilton remains at 143 steals between high-Class A Bakersfield and Pensacola. He's two shy of the record set in 1983 by Vince Coleman at Class A Macon.

Beau Mills and David Vidal each homered to highlight a six-run eighth for Pensacola, which moved within two games of the division-leading Biscuits.

Thoughts on Pensacola's new stadium ? More what do you like and what don't you like.

I'm not down there this week, but I covered the season-opening series.

I've said this and will continue to say this about the stadium -- You can't beat the view.

The stadium itself seemed a bit plain. There isn't much cover, so there's little escape from rain (or intense heat).

I was also surprised at the lack of luxury suites, but it seemed like there was space to add a few, if wanted.

Though I didn't have to worry about it, I know parking was at a premium. Still, if some new businesses bridge the gap between the stadium and the main strip (street name?), it will be a destination environment.

All of that is based on what I saw in April. I don't know what may have changed.
