Biscuits nix Mason's pink plans

Biscuits pitcher Chris Mason won't get to dye his hair pink for Thursday's start. He had planned to do so to support breast cancer awareness.

"We're going to stay away from that," manager Billy Gardner said. "We don't want to distract from the game. I'm sure he wanted to show his support for something he cares about, but it would be a little out of the box to have pink hair.

"And he wouldn't look good in pink, anyway."

Mason, who had his pink dye located, said he was disappointed he wouldn't be able to put it to use and will move on.

"I'll go with dark blue or something," Mason said. "Something not as drastic. I don't know what blue stands for."
