What a wild night

Carolina's Chase Lambin just homered and walked off the field with a single.

In the third inning with Johnny Raburn on first base, Lambin hit a ball to deep center that Montgomery outfielder Fernando Perez first appeared to catch. Raburn had reached second and started retreating to first with Perez sitting on the warning track.

When umpire Chris Ward reached Perez, he found out the ball cleared the wall and signaled home run.

Oh, but Lambin had passed Raburn on the basepaths.

So, Lambin is out and his home run becomes a single. Raburn is awarded home on Lambin's "homer."
