The tarp, of course, is on the field. Nice wad of red on the radar just left Highland Home and is heading due north.
5:20 p.m. update: Biscuits general manager Greg Rauch just said they're looking at a 6:15 start. On the radar, all the red is gone and there's a little yellow creeping up I-65 just south of Hope Hull, but it should be clear after that.
5:50 p.m. update: The tarp is off the field.

6:17 p.m. update: First pitch
6:58 update: First inning ends. A nine-run, nine-hit inning by the Biscuits will do that. (A throwing error and two passed balls by Carolina catcher Brett Hayes didn't help.)
7 p.m. update: One of the passed balls has been changed to a wild pitch.

What is the what if? If both games get rained out today?
Doubleheader Thursday. Minor-league rules prohibit tripleheaders.
Not sure if they'd have the Mudcats make the 587-mile drive (one-way) to play a makeup game Tuesday, if necessary.
If they did, however, here's a nightmare scenario for the Biscuits. They play Monday at Jacksonville and play Tuesday's makeup, which leaves them in a tie with the Suns. The Biscuits and Suns play a one-game playoff Wednesday to see who goes to Mississippi to start the playoffs.
And a real nightmare would have that one-game playoff in Jacksonville. JAX on Monday, MGY on Tuesday, JAX on Wednesday and MIS from there.
