Thursday Barons opener

Evan Longoria, who left Tuesday's game at West Tenn after being hit by a pitch, is in the lineup after missing Thursday's game. Probably helps that Tampa Bay bigwig Gerry Hunsicker is in town.

The Biscuits are apparently making a rotation change. Mike Prochaska is listed as Friday's starter instead of Derek Feldkamp in the Birmingham notes. The Biscuits haven't posted their notes.

And the Devil Rays activated Greg Norton today and put Rocco Baldelli on the DL. Norton was with the Biscuits through Sunday.

Longoria has a 33-game on-base streak, catcher John Jaso a 20-game on-base streak and outfielder Jason Pridie a 13-game hit streak.

UPDATE: Feldkamp moved to bullpen based on performance, not injury. He listed some things he has to improve and hopes, if things work out, to be back in the rotation after a few weeks. Also, center fielder Fernando Perez's return has been delayed because of a hip flexor strain. He's been out with a knee injury.
