Biscuits catcher Nevin Ashley has knocked in five runs through six innings today and the Montgomery leads 8-0. He hit a two-run homer in the third, an infield RBI single in the fourth and a two-run single in the sixth. Ashley also singled and scored in the second.
He had four RBIs in three previous career games, one for Columbus in August 2007 and two for Rookie-level Princeton in July and August 2006.
Ashley is the 16th player in Biscuits history to reach five RBIs and the second this year (Chris Nowak on May 31). Gabriel Martinez's seven RBIs on Aug. 9, 2006, is the record, followed by Elliot Johnson's six on April 26, 2006.
Ashley should get another at-bat.
UPDATE: Ashley walked in the eighth. Biscuits lead 9-1, so that should be his final at-bat.
