Lobstein rakes in Midwest League award

Bowling Green's Kyle Lobstein, on the strength of his start Wednesday, won the Midwest League's weekly pitching award today. Lobstein threw seven shutout innings in a 6-2 win over Lake County. The left-hander allowed four hits, walked none and struck out seven to improve to 8-6 with a 4.20 ERA.

Streaking Steve Clevenger of the Tennessee Smokies and Birmingham's Deunte Heath won the Southern League's weekly honors. Clevenger has hits in nine straight at-bats, two shy of the league record. He also had nine RBIs and five extra-base hits the last two days. Heath threw five shutout innings in two relief appearances.
