The Biscuits currently have just 10 healthy position players and three are catchers. Of the three, Craig Albernaz does have an inning of pro experience at second base and Matt Spring has played some first base. Albernaz has been taking grounders and confidently stated he can play shortstop, too. (I'll save that statement for Tuesday's paper.) Your injuries ...
rInfielder Shawn O'Malley has missed four straight games with trouble from the same shoulder that put him on the DL back in April. He had X-rays today and expects to have an MRI on Tuesday.
rThird baseman Matt Sweeney left the Biscuits today for Tampa Bay's rehab program in Port Charlotte, Fla., with his elbow injury. His return is uncertain.
rCloser Matt Gorgen, after experiencing discomfort last week, was shut down during the Mobile series. He played catch today and said he felt good.
rSecond baseman Cody Cipriano has a slight labrum tear, an MRI last week revealed, but it's something that won't get worse, manager Billy Gardner said, and the Biscuits are hopeful he'll return soon.

What ever happened to Ryan Royster?
Never mind. I see he's with the GCL Rays on a rehab assignment.
