Suns, Marlins extend relationship

The Jacksonville Suns, pleased with last year's Southern League championship and headed back to the playoffs this year, and the Florida Marlins will be together for two more seasons.

The two agreed to extend their player development contract through 2012, the Suns announced today. The Marlins and Triple-A New Orleans Zephyrs extended theirs last week.

The Mobile BayBears and Arizona Diamondbacks re-upped last week, while the Chattanooga Lookouts and Los Angeles Dodgers did it (through 2014) this month. Montgomery, Carolina, Huntsville and West Tenn are the only Southern League teams who have yet to extend their PDCs.
