Dan Johnson doubled twice and Brandon Guyer doubled once. That was it for the hits. Guyer drew one of three Durham walks. Jeff Niemann allowed four runs in four innings in a rehab start. Chris Bootcheck went the other four, giving up two runs.
St. Lucie 4, Stone Crabs 2
Jake Jefferies hit a two-run single in the fifth and the Crabs totaled six hits and nary a walk. Drew Leary threw 2 2/3 shutout innings of relief.
Hot Rods 13, Kane County 7Phil Wunderlich hit a third-inning grand slam and finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored. Kevin Kiermaier had three RBIs, three runs scored, a walk and a two-run homer. Luke Bailey doubled twice, scored and knocked in three runs. Victor Mateo surrendered a six-run second but lasted five innings to improve to 6-4.
