To replace the promoted Jim Paduch, the Biscuits have added left-hander Jimmy Patterson from high-Class A Charlotte.
The 23-year-old was an 18th-round pick in the 2010 draft and had a 2.95 ERA in 39 appearances with low-Class A Bowling Green last year. In two appearances this season, Patterson had allowed one hit and one earned run in 2 2/3 innings.
