Wednesday's Rays roundup

Columbus 3, Bulls 0
Alex Colome
posted a book-rule quality start with seven hits allowed, three walks and seven strikeouts. Tim Beckham had two of Durham's six hits.

Riccio Torrez
doubled and tripled. Rehabbing Jeff Niemann gave up an unearned run in 2 2/3 innings. Braulio Lara tossed 4 1/3 shutout innings.

South Bend 6, Hot Rods 4
Jeff Malm
doubled, singled and had four RBIs. Drew Vettleson tripled, walked thrice, stole and scored twice. Ryan Brett doubled, walked, stole twice and scored twice.

Renegades 2, Vermont 0
Taylor Guerrieri
tossed five innings with four hits, no walks and four strikeouts to pick up his first pro win. Ian Kendall threw three innings with a hit and three walks. Richie Shaffer hit a solo homer, singled and had two RBIs.

P-Rays 4, Bluefield 3 (13)
Brandon Martin
scored from first on a throwing error to win it. Martin homered, doubled, walked and scored three times. Andrew Toles singled, walked twice and scored twice. Nick Sawyer tossed four perfect innings with eight strikeouts. Eli Echarry threw five shutout innings and gave up two hits.

GCL Red Sox 3, Rays 0
Armando Araiza
walked three times. The Rays had three singles. Johnny Eierman and Clayton Henning walked twice each.
