Mark Thomas tied a season high with three RBIs and the Biscuits moved closer to a potential playoff spot with Friday's 6-4 win over the Huntsville Stars.
Pending the Jacksonville Suns' game at Jackson on Friday, the Biscuits moved 1 1/2 games into first place in the Southern League's South Division. There are three games left in the regular season.
The Stars had the tying runs on base with one out in the ninth. Brock Kjeldgaard, who knocked in two runs earlier, flied out and Hunter Morris, who picked up his 108th RBI earlier, struck out to end it.
Kyle Lobstein posted his 10th quality start, allowing three unearned runs over 6 2/3 innings.
Thomas, who homered in the second inning, hit a two-run single in the sixth to snap a 3-3 tie.
The Biscuits hit a season-high three triples. Shawn O'Malley, Mike Sheridan and Ty Morrison each scored on a sacrifice fly.
