Carolina center fielder Denis Phipps and Birmingham right-hander Terry Doyle were the Southern League's weekly winners.
Phipps is 11-for-17 with six runs scored in four games since the All-Star break. He's hitting .291 this year and has 20 hits in his last nine games.
Doyle threw a three-hit shutout Sunday against Tennessee, the league's top hitting team. He's 2-2 with a 2.67 ERA in four starts since being promoted from high-A Winston Salem, where he had a 2.84 ERA in 11 starts.
