Wetumpka's Reggie Golden will start the season, his first full year as a professional, with the Boise Hawks of the short-season Northwest League.
Golden was a second-round draft pick of the Chicago Cubs last year and received a reported $720,000 signing bonus. Due to a hamstring injury that limited him as a Wetumpka senior, Golden played in four games for Chicago's team in the Rookie-level Arizona League.
The Hawks open their season Friday at the Eugene Emeralds.
