Sunday's Rays roundup

Bulls 2, Gwinnett 1
Dan Johnson
hit a tiebreaking home run in the eighth. Brian Baker, who retired 15 straight at one point, gave up a run on three hits in 5 2/3 innings. Brandon Gomes got out of an eighth-inning jam. With runners on second and third with one out, Gomes recorded two strikeouts.

Hot Rods 6, South Bend 4
Cody Rogers'
three-run double with two outs in the ninth sealed the first-half Midwest League East Division title. Rogers finished with four RBIs. Nick Schwaner hit a sacrifice fly to start the ninth-inning scoring. Victor Mateo allowed one run in five innings. Chris Rearick vultured the win, giving up three runs in the eighth.

Renegades 5, Aberdeen 4 (10)
Chris Winder
hit a tiebreaking RBI triple and scored on a Juniel Querecuto squeeze bunt. Querecuto tripled and scored in the eighth and Gerardo Oliveras homered in the ninth to tie it. Querecuto also walked. Jacob Partridge's five innings included two runs on six hits, no walks and seven strikeouts. Robert Dickmann allowed an unearned run over four innings for the win. Justin Woodall, formerly of Alabama football, gave up a run in his pro debut but squirmed out of a jam for the save.
