Reliever Neal Frontz, after throwing a 25-pitch side session Friday, threw 30 pitches Saturday and says he's close to coming off the disabled list.
Frontz, who has been on the shelf since Aug. 10 with a sore elbow, said he feels only the usual discomfort in it now.
"I should be activated in a day or two," Frontz said. "It's sore, but it's going to be sore because I haven't thrown like normal in a few weeks."
With the end of the season near, the Biscuits weren't considering shutting Frontz down for the year.
"We're anticipating getting him back out there," manager Billy Gardner said.
