Two Tampa Bay Rays minor leaguers won their league's weekly awards today.Charlotte's Matt Moore was the top pitcher in the Florida State League and Bowling Green's Tyler Bortnick was the top hitter in the Midwest League.
Moore (left) was 2-0 over the week with 20 strikeouts and seven hits allowed in 13 innings. His seven-inning, one-run effort Sunday included 11 punchouts and helped the Stone Crabs clinch a first-half division title.
In his last three starts, Moore is 3-0 with an 0.93 ERA. He turned 21 on Friday.
Bortnick was 9-for-21 over the week with two home runs and six runs scored. The second baseman is hitting .295 this year.
