Biscuits pitchers Darin Downs and Justin Garcia have been promoted to Triple-A Durham.
Garcia is scheduled to join the Bulls for Monday's game at Indianapolis. Downs, who pitched 2 1/3 innings Sunday and wouldn't be available Monday, said he will drive with wife Christy to Durham and then he'll fly to Indy.
Downs (left) was 6-2 with a 1.69 ERA this season. Last year, he won the Florida State League's ERA championship and finished the season with the Biscuits. Downs suffered a season-ending -- and life-threatening -- injury in his second appearance for Montgomery. He was hit on the head by a line drive.
"I'm just happy to be playing this year after what happened last year, and I think I was doing really good," Downs said. "You really can't control what goes on. All you can do is what you can do and let the rest take care of itself."
Garcia was 2-2 with a 5.14 ERA in 13 games for the Biscuits, but he last pitched June 2 and hasn't been on the active roster since June 6. The Bulls recently added infielder Omar Luna because of an injury and may have more.
