Phillips will start Tuesday in Cruz's place

Right-hander Paul Phillips is taking Tuesday's start in place of the disabled Joe Cruz. It will be Phillips' first start this season after 17 relief appearances with the Biscuits and six with Triple-A Durham. He has four career starts to his credit. Cruz is scheduled to have an MRI on his shoulder Wednesday.
