Stephen Vogt's two-run single highlighted a five-run second inning that helped the Biscuits claim a 7-4 win over the Mississippi Braves on Tuesday.
Paul Phillips, making a spot start for Montgomery, worked 4 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on four hits. Sergio Espinosa, back with the Biscuits, followed with 2 1/3 innings of one-run ball.
John Shelby hit a long home run in the third inning to give the Biscuits a 7-2 lead. It was Shelby's seventh homer of the season.
