PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Joel Guzman's two-run home run and Cody Puckett's sun-aided three-run double highlighted Pensacola's 7-5 win over the Biscuits on Sunday.
Guzman's homer came in the third inning off Montgomery starter Joe Cruz (0-1). Puckett's double came in the seventh against reliever Scott Shuman.
Left fielder Kyeong Kang went back on the ball and slipped before trying to catch it while on his knees. The ball went to the wall and gave the Blue Wahoos a 7-1 lead.
The Biscuits mustered just eight hits, three by Omar Luna and three each in the eighth and ninth. Pensacola retired 11 straight Montgomery hitters between Luna's fourth-inning single and David Wendt's leadoff single in the eighth.
Luna hit a two-run single to cap a three-run eighth and Tyler Bortnick doubled home Hak-Ju Lee in the ninth. In both innings, the Biscuits had the potential tying run on base.
