Biscuits pitcher Adam Liberatore, though his college bio lists his major as electrical engineering, actually has a marketing degree from Tennessee Tech.
Liberatore, the subject of today's story kicking off this week's series with the Jackson Generals, also took a lot of finance classes and graduated in 2010.
He had good reason for skipping the graduation ceremony. Liberatore pitched the opening game of a doubleheader that day.
"I just hung out and rested for my start," Liberatore said. "My mom wanted me to walk, but I had to pitch the first game at 1 o'clock. I didn't want to worry about that in the morning. I have my diploma, so I can prove that I graduated."
