Montgomery's Matt Buschmann and Durham's Chris Archer won their league's pitcher of the week awards.
Buschmann gave up one hit and struck out a career-high 12 over 6 2/3 innings Friday in his only start of the week to win the Southern League award. Archer was 2-0, gave up one earned run in 12 innings, allowed seven hits and totaled 14 strikeouts to land International League honors.
Archer won the nightcap of a doubleheader at Syracuse on Tuesday, giving up a run on four hits in six innings. On Sunday at Empire State, the right-hander also went six innings, allowing an unearned run on three hits with a season-high nine strikeouts to outduel Manny Banuelos, the Yankees' top prospect. Banuelos, who didn't factor in the decision, also gave up just an unearned run in six innings on five hits, no walks and seven strikeouts.
Buschmann, who threw six innings of one-run ball in his previous start, took a no-hitter into the sixth inning Friday against Jacksonville. His 12 strikeouts were three more than his previous career high.
Mobile third baseman Matt Davidson was the Southern League's hitter of the week. He hit .333 with seven RBIs and four runs scored, including a two-homer, four-RBI game Sunday.
