Biscuits pitcher Shane Dyer has been promoted to Triple-A Durham, according to Full Circle Sports Management, which represents Dyer.
Dyer was Montgomery's opening day starter, is 4-2 and ranks fifth in the Southern League with a 2.03 ERA. In his last three starts, he's allowed just one earned run in 19 innings. That run came on a home run, which was the only hit he allowed in seven innings Monday.
Dyer was scheduled to start Saturday for the Biscuits. Alex Cobb is scheduled to start Saturday for Triple-A Durham. The Rays are in need of a starter Saturday after Jeff Niemann's injury.
