Biscuits infielder Chris Nowak won the Southern League's weekly hitting award. Charlotte's Shane Dyer was the week's top pitcher in the Florida State League.
Nowak was 10-for-27 over the last week with three home runs and eight RBIs. He homered twice and had five RBIs last Monday at Mississippi.
Dyer threw 7 1/3 shutout innings Friday in his fourth start with the Stone Crabs. He allowed two hits, walked two and struck out nine in a no-decision. Dyer is 2-1 with a 1.07 ERA.
West Tenn's Mauricio Robles, 2-0 with eight hits and two runs allowed in 11 2/3 innings, won the Southern League's award for pitchers.
