Griffey retiring after 630 home runs

Mariners outfielder Ken Griffey Jr. announced Wednesday that he's retiring in the middle of his 22nd major-league season, the Seattle Times reports. Griffey's 630 career home runs rank fifth on the all-time home run list. The 40-year-old has a .184 average, no homers and seven RBIs in 33 games this year.
