Former Biscuits outfielder Cody Strait has signed with the Lake County Fielders of the independent Frontier League.
The Fielders are located in suburban Chicago, are a first-year franchise, are scheduled to open a new stadium and are owned by actor Kevin Costner, who will appear at the first home game. (Barring copyright restriction, let's guess now that the phrase "if you build it, they will come" is used.)
Former Biscuits Alex Jamieson and Joey Gomes already play for the Fielders.
