The Biscuits banged out 20 hits -- their most in 6 1/2 years at Riverwalk Stadium -- in Thursday’s 13-5 win over the Birmingham Barons.
Leslie Anderson, Cody Cipriano and John Matulia had three RBIs each. Cipriano hit a two-run home run to tie the game 4-4 in the fourth inning. Chris Nowak scored three times and Emeel Salem had four hits.
With Jacksonville’s 6-5, 13-inning home loss to Mobile, Montgomery pulled within a half-game of the Suns in the first-half South Division race. There are nine games remaining in the half.
